Jardim Apartment is an ultra-compact 24-square-meter studio located in a privileged area in downtown São Paulo, directly facing a large tree-filled park. The project is based on the understanding that limited floor area does not imply limited spatial quality, but rather demands precision, strategy, and clarity in design.

Conceived for a client who does not reside in the city, the apartment functions as a base during stays in São Paulo. Instead of opting for the impersonality of hotels, the owner chose to invest in a private space capable of offering identity, comfort, and a sense of permanence, even for short-term visits.
The internal organization is structured around a single wooden volume that concentrates functions and defines the space. This element operates simultaneously as partition, storage, and technical support, establishing a subtle transition between sleeping, living, and cooking areas.

Material choices privilege neutral tones and continuous surfaces, reinforcing a serene and timeless atmosphere. Wood plays a central role and contributes to the visual unity of the interior, balancing warmth with formal restraint.
The linear and compact kitchen integrates seamlessly into the space without rigid hierarchies, while built-in furniture optimizes the available area. Each design decision aims to reduce visual interference and enhance spatial perception.

The studio’s only opening occurs through a small technical terrace directly facing the tree canopy, where the green foliage becomes the dominant presence. This constant relationship with the landscape expands the perception of space and guides the choice of neutral tones and wood, which both contrast with and respond to the intensity of the exterior.
The project thus reflects on contemporary living within reduced dimensions, where design, proportion, and constructive precision become fundamental tools for achieving spatial quality.
